The Queen's Birthday Street Party

Here are some pictures of yesterday's Street Party. Despite looming rain, and competition from the opening matches of Euro 2016, we had a good turn out and a fun time. Many thanks for all the work that went into this from Seal Church and the Know Your Neighbours group. It takes a lot of planning and organisation.
Laying the tables - lots of them!

The Messy Church activities looking suspiciously organised and unMessy (but only until people actually arrived and started cutting and sticking!)

We made crowns, and a giant community poster, to be photographed and sent to the Queen.

The refreshment team waiting for business. Thanks to all who baked and served.

Our Messy Church card, in the background, was starting to collect greetings.

Dark clouds loomed, but the rain held off until near the end.

Stephen led us in some singing.

The Hokey Cokey was an inevitable part of the proceedings.

We repaired to the village hall for the...

...belly dancing. There are normally 6 or 7 of us, but only two, including me, could make it on this day. My co-dancer, Carolyn, was brilliant, especially in catching up when I omitted a vital move... We tried to look as if we knew what we were doing, and the audience seemed to enjoy it!

The finished 90th birthday community poster, ready to be printed out as a card (in A4 size!) and sent to Buckingham Palace.
