LENT
COURSE 2013 “What’s the point?”
That’s
not a cry of despair but the title of this year’s Lent course, which asks what
life is for, and what we are doing with the life we have been given.
GROUP
1 meets on Monday evenings 8 - 9.30pm in Seal Vicarage. Feb 18, 25, March 4, 11
GROUP
2 meets on Wednesday mornings 11am - 12.30pm in Seal Vicarage. Feb 20, 27, March
6, 13
Both
courses led by Anne. To book a place,
please sign the list in church or contact me.
You
can also join in online with a quote a day to ponder about life and what
we do with it. These will be posted each day from Ash Wednesday (Feb 13) here on the
church blog, facebook page and twitter. There are a limited number of paper
copies of these in church on the table by the lectern.
ASH WEDNESDAY There will
be a said service of Holy Communion with the Imposition of Ashes on Ash
Wednesday, Feb 13, at 8pm. During
this said service in modern language, which begins the season of Lent, we
reflect on the things which we would like to change in our lives and our world,
asking for God’s forgiveness and help. The congregation is invited to receive
the sign of the cross in ash on their foreheads, though no one has to have this
if they would rather not. There will also be a Communion service (Book of
Common Prayer) at 10 am as usual. This will not include the imposition of
ashes. All are welcome
