Remembrance Sunday
Often on Remembrance Sunday our minds are focussed on wars in the past, but this year we have all watched the news from Ukraine, night after night. In truth, war has always been a constant presence in our world, but rolling 24/7 news makes that more obvious to us now than it might have been to our ancestors. In every generation, people have have faced times of trouble and sorrow, and felt its effects - fear, disorientation, powerlessness. Today's sermon explores what we might learn from the wisdom of those who have gone before us in dealing with our own feelings as we contemplate the current crises that face us. |
